Xiuxi Pan, PhD

Technical Lead

Dr. Pan has dedicated his career to pioneering advancements in Generative AI, bridging fundamental research, product engineering, and business development. As the inventor of next-generation, image-generation-based lensless imaging technology, he has published in leading journals and conferences, launched an award-winning startup to commercialize the technology, and been profiled by WIRED, Nikkei, and other media as a pioneer of AI in Japan. He led pioneering research on Image Generation at SenseTime, and later headed the Image Generation team at Japan's leading Web3 startup, driving initiatives at the intersection of Generative AI and blockchain.

Sho Osawa

Commercial Lead

Sho leads strategy and partnerships at Yodo Labs. His background spans strategy consulting and corporate development at PwC (Strategy&) and Westpac Banking Group. Most recently he scaled a South East Asian start-up insurer from zero to $150M in total insured exposure in two years. His experience gave him a front-row seat to the gaps that emerge when global AI tools hit the realities of Asian languages, regulatory environments, and document workflows. He holds a Bachelors of Law and Economics from the Australian National University and is fluent in English and Japanese.

Bona Bai, PhD

Robotics Lead

Dr. Bai brings over 15 years of experience in perception, navigation, and autonomy for intelligent robots. His work spans both academia and industry, with a deep focus on building real-world autonomous systems. He has been a key developer on several high-profile robotics programs, including Astro and Always Home Cam at Amazon, autonomous drone delivery systems at Google's Wing, and humanoid robotics at Figure AI. His expertise bridges full-stack autonomy, from sensor fusion and SLAM to real-time decision making and deployment at scale. As an advisor, Dr. Bai supports strategic guidance on robotic perception, autonomy architecture, and real-world deployment.

Billy Qiu

Former consultant at KPMG with operating experience across startup and investment ecosystems in APAC and the US. At Yodo Labs, he leads partnerships, ecosystem development, and community, working with consultancies, IT firms, and enterprises to scope and deliver AI engineering projects.

Qian Niu, PhD

AI Expert

Dr. Niu pairs cutting-edge research with hands-on engineering to push the boundaries of large-language-model development. After earning her Ph.D. in Health Informatics from Kyoto University, Dr. Niu joined the University of Tokyo's Matsuo Laboratory, where she leads projects that train LLMs entirely from scratch, optimize distributed training pipelines, and deploy generative AI for clinical and public-health applications. Her work has earned multiple top honors, including the Google PhD Fellowship, Kyoto University President's Award, and JST SPRING Fellowship, recognizing both technical excellence and real-world impact.

Isamu Nakao, PhD

Technology Industry Expert

Dr. Nakao received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2021. Earlier in his career, in 1990, He joined Sony Corporation. At Sony, he served as a research leader in quantum optics, wave optics, and medical optics, contributing to multiple technological innovations, including patents related to quantum dot LED display technology. From 1996 to 1997, he was a visiting researcher at Brown University in the United States.
