About Yodo Labs
Yodo Labs is a certified venture out of Institute of Science Tokyo, working to bring AI and robotics into the real operations of Japan's heavy industry, infrastructure, and construction sectors. We analyze field data such as camera footage, drone imagery, and inspection photos and video using AI and computer vision, and we build products that support real decisions in the field: inspection, maintenance, monitoring, and disaster response.
We started building Yodo in 2026, and we already have early PoCs and deployment work underway with major engineering and construction companies. We recently closed our first round of funding, and we're now moving into the phase of building out the business and the team in earnest.
About the Role
We're looking for a founding business member to build Yodo Labs alongside us from these early days.
Sales, business development, customer success, BizOps, consulting, technical sales, field engineering, service engineering. The title doesn't matter to us. What matters is that you've worked close to customers and to the field, understood their real problems, and moved a business forward. If that's you, we'd love to talk.
Yodo isn't at the stage of selling a finished product off a fixed deck. We're at the stage of getting onto the customer's site, understanding what's actually happening there, and working with our engineering team to build AI products that genuinely get used. As a small early-stage team, this isn't about inheriting a polished playbook. It's about figuring out, together with the CEO and the technical team, which customers we serve and what value we bring them.
What We'd Ask You to Do
We'd shape the work together around your background and interests, but it would likely include areas like these:
- Opening up customers across infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, and industrial sectors
- Visiting customer sites and drawing out the real problems there
- Driving PoCs, field trials, and deployment projects forward
- Making sense of customer problems and shaping them into proposals with the engineering team
- Building relationships with partner companies and people across the industry
- Laying the foundations of Yodo's sales process, positioning, and go-to-market
- Standing up the commercial and business development team down the road
You Might Be a Good Fit If
You've spent time in fields where technology meets the physical world: infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, building management, industrial machinery, inspection, robotics, or automation.
You like getting out to the field. You're genuinely curious about infrastructure, construction, heavy industry, robotics, and AI. And you want to put your experience to work building a business inside a startup.
Location and Work Style
Location: Osaka office (Osaka, Fukushima) Travel: Some domestic travel for customer visits, site inspections, PoCs, and deployment support
